Information Technology Center (ITC)

The IT Center comprises 21 labs, including three newly added, state-of-the-art labs for Ph.D. research, thesis work, and multimedia. Over 1,400 networked computers support academic programs, along with specialized labs in Electronics/Physics, Microprocessors, and Digital Design.

All labs are regularly updated with the latest software and hardware. The Center offers 155 Mbps internet, a video-conferencing facility, and has equipped nearly all classrooms with 96 multimedia projectors. In-house technicians manage equipment maintenance, supported by a dedicated sickbay.

Aligned with national IT and education goals, the Center offers extensive services to facilitate student learning and research. A strong code of conduct governs computer use.

FJWU runs a major IT training initiative for women, leading to high market acceptance of its graduates. The Center provides advanced telecommunication services, including VOIP and IP telephony for senior staff.
A campus-wide Wi-Fi network (32 indoor, 4 outdoor access points) serves over 700 registered users. Security is ensured via MAC filtering and encryption.

The Center maintains a wide range of licensed software and recently added 186 new Dell systems. It also operates the Virtua Library Management System, used by only four institutions nationwide.

To enhance security, the Center has installed CCTV cameras and walk-through gates, with monitoring extended to the Director’s Office and Server Room.

A VPN server allows faculty and students to access the Digital Library remotely. Internet access has been extended on a trial basis to one student hostel, with plans to expand to others
